This app is hugely helpful. I frequent malls on Long Island (Walt Whitman, Roosevelt Field, etc.). I've saved hundreds of dollars at this point, and it always tells me about sales at my favorite stores. I never go to the mall without checking this app first. Also, I hate having to find the stupid map kiosks in the mall (I can never find them when I need them). Now, if I'm looking for a store quickly, I just pop open malltip and find it right then and there. A shopper's dream come true :)

Your battery life is our priority!
Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. We currently use the phone's GPS to notify you if there are nearby malls, nearby stores with sales, and events near you. We understand that battery life is important (we love making phone calls too!) and employ the following technique to reduce battery drain. When Malltip is running in the background, we reduce the frequency and accuracy of the GPS recordings, helping to minimize the battery drain. When the app is open - we increase the accuracy of the GPS, allowing you to navigate the mall with the most accurate location. We believe this is an acceptable tradeoff, and our in-house test results have been encouraging.
