We developed the Psyx app after more than a decade of research and innovation in the areas of listening fatigue and compressed music. Compressed music causes hearing fatigue for a number of reasons and we have identified the 4 main areas of concern:
Dynamics, Image Width, Artifact Management, and Articulation.
The Psyx app employs predictors designed to measure human response to compressed audio shortcomings. Using the human psychoacoustic system as the predictor, we have developed a real time method of measuring and perceptually shaping the compressed audio to reflect what the listener expects to (and wants to) hear.
EarPrint Color Profiles:
We have included 6 EarPrint Color Profiles that allow you to select the best possible fit based on the following factors:
1) The amount of compression in the song
2) The era of the song
3) The playback medium (cars, docks, soundbars, home systems, etc)
4) Background noise
5) The condition of the listener's hearing
6) The listener's expectations
There is no "correct" color, and we purposely do not use terms like "pop" "rock" "hip hop" because that has nothing to do with what people want to hear. Choose the color YOU like the best, and Psyx will even remember it the next time it is played. Each color profile displays a description, an image map illustrating front vs. rear image management, and its level of artifact correction.
Psyx "EarPrint" is a technology that allows us to capture an exact 3D model of a person's hearing system. We have been working with Grammy award winning recording artists, producers and engineers to offer these additional EarPrint Colors within the Psyx app (coming soon).

With peak power of 50 Million Instructions Per Second (MIPS) applied to 170+ discreet psychoacoustic algorithms, the Psyx app produces unrivaled performance while remaining fully optimized and power-efficient, boasting up to 18 hours of continuous playback.
