This is a terrific app which I use all the time, I use it every day. However it would be great if we could use it with music during extended kanji sessions. Even with sound effects turned off in the settings in this app the music is always cancelled whenever an answer is selected. Please allow us to listen to music with this app by preventing the app from stopping playback of music. Thank you for the otherwise terrific app which has taken me all the way from N5 to N2 so far. *****

Overall it's a great app. I wish there was a iPad version and that the kanji compounds could be (optionally) included in the teach me mode.

This is by far the very best kanji program I have ever used. Absolutely no complaints. Thanks to the developers who made such a great app at an affordable price.

I've tried other apps that rely more on rote memorization. They're nice apps of course, but this just makes studying kanji so much more fun. I'll study a set of kanji once, then go right into the tests, and I won't quit testing till I've got 20 out of 20 correct. I love the readings and stroke tests, which let me know quickly whether I've got a kanji down, and it highlights my mistake making it easy to focus on what I need to remember. A couple of features I want to see. A meanings test. Some kanji have a lot of meanings, so including ten meanings on a page and having to check off all the correct meanings would help a lot in remembering. The other is a little time to look at mistakes made on the test so we can remember on the next pass through, and the next stroke shown after a mistake is made. Anyways, it's the only app that has kept me motivated to study kanji more often, and it fits in my pocket.

I have praised earlier and still admit iKanji is one of the greatest apps out there who wanna learn Japanese, but I have to point out some minor mistakes to ppl. Some kanjis like "外" are written wrong. The fifth stroke has to start from the line but it just cuts through the fourth stroke and that's not how it suppose to be. And some(not few for sure) word examples/compounds are not used commonly these days (or worse, never heard of it before, though the word exists in the dictionary.....) If you don't care about it, then there's no problem at all, but for those who want to learn commonly used words, then grab another Japanese book and learn it along.

I'll just give my suggestions/ideas: 1) kanji writing drill would be nice (with and without the trace) 2) a short video clip on how to use the app effectively. 3) some sort of voiceover 4) a reading comprehension page w/ comprehension questions But overall, I'm giving 5 stars to this app.

Look it, best Kanji book cost much more, way heavy to carry, and no quick drills. I live in Japan for 4 years now and regardless of one`s level, Kanji study is never over. This one is by far the cheapest way to go and learn, practice, and correct yourself. Like most people, I have downloaded all the other kanji apps, save your money, get this one and improve your level as you go.

Forget the other apps, this is the best one by far. Worth every cents. Yes there are cheaper Kanji softwares available but you might regret purchasing them - as I did...

By far the best Kanji study tool I have ever used. There are some small things that could be improved on like giving you a second chance if you make a mistake when you are practising the stroke order, but if you're serious about learning Kanji then this is the one to choose.
